What's the cost?
Working with Nebulum typically begins around $10,000 for focused system design, prototyping, or data capture pipelines. More comprehensive build engagements, including integrated hardware, embedded software, and backend systems, often range from $20,000 to $35,000. Larger or more complex deployments may exceed this range. We also offer strategic advisory for teams developing hardware or deep-tech systems in-house.
What types of things can you build?
Pretty much anything that connects the physical and digital worlds. We build hardware systems, embedded software, sensor and data-capture platforms, communication pipelines, and the cloud software that supports them. That includes custom instruments, IoT and industrial systems, scientific data platforms, applied AI/ML tools, and purpose-built applications designed to work reliably in real environments.
Will it be hard to manage my project once it's complete?
Nope! We thought about that too. Building software based applications is quite a technologically complex process. However, we’ve found ways to use technology to make it more accessible to non-technical founders who don’t want to have the expense of having to have a full time dev team working on their projects. For this reason, we’ve built in a suite of educational tools that will teach you how to manage your entire platform once we’ve completed it.
What is your process for handling changes or additional requirements?
We have a very thorough client on-boarding process. However, we know that things changed and it’s often in the best interest of the project to be able to incorporate those changes. Therefore, we budget an allowance for change into each project. In fact, our agile development process embraces change. Through weekly sprint reviews, we identify and evaluate new requirements together. Changes are quickly estimated, documented, and seamlessly integrated into our workflow. This flexibility ensures your product evolves with your business needs while maintaining project momentum and quality standards. If new feature requests fall outside of our allotted time allowance, we’ll simply create “a-la-carte” development add-ons that you can purchase.
How involved will I be during development?
You’ll have the perfect balance of involvement – informed but not overwhelmed. Through weekly sprint reviews and our intuitive project dashboard, you’ll maintain clear oversight while our expert team handles the heavy lifting. Your valuable input shapes key decisions without demanding excessive time from your schedule.
Will you accept installment payments?
Yes (only for our higher ticker “done for you” agency work). For this service, we require 50% payment upfront to begin work on your project. After that, another 25% is required once we hit the halfway milestone and the last 25% is due on final product delivery.
How can I be sure that I'll be happy with the delivery?
As soon as you begin working with us you’ll be given the opportunity to express your vision for your project. We then map out your vision in bite-sized chunks (sprints) in our proprietary project delivery software. Within this software we’ll begin work completing each sprint. Before we’re able to move to the next sprint, you’ll need to approve the completion of the current sprint. In this way, we ensure you’re 100% happy each step of the way.

Generally speaking we can push a project across the finish line within 1 to 3 months.
How do you handle project management and communication?
We maintain transparent communication through our dedicated project manager who provides weekly video updates and 24/7 access to our project dashboard.
